European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery

Esteban graduated in Barcelona in 2002, then spent 3 years working in the veterinary teaching hospital of the University of Barcelona, during which he completed a rotating internship. This enabled him to start a residency programme in small animal surgery just outside Paris, under the supervision of Dr Jean-François Bardet. He obtained his ECVS Diploma in 2014 and has worked as a Specialist in Surgery in referral centres in the UK and Spain.

He joined Southfields Veterinary Specialists in 2017 and has an interest in both orthopaedic and soft tissue (including minimally invasive) surgery.

Surgical Intern

Carlos graduated from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2011 and worked in the University Teaching Hospital of Lago for two years. During this time he completed a rotating internship, developed a strong interest in small animal surgery and subsequently moved to the UK to pursue further specialisation.

He then completed a second rotating internship before achieving a Postgraduate Certificate from the University of Nottingham and spending two years in general practice. He has published in scientific journals and is currently studying towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.

Carlos joined Southfields Veterinary Specialists as a surgical intern in April 2018. He is particularly enthusiastic about such areas as regenerative medicine, minimally invasive surgery and complex fracture management.
