Clinical Extra Mural Studies (CEMS) at Southfields Veterinary Specialists

Southfields Veterinary Specialists provides Clinical EMS opportunities for final year students attending UK and Ireland veterinary schools.

We offer two week placements with our veterinary Specialists, giving you the opportunity to experience the caseload typical of a large, multi-disciplinary small animal Specialist referral centre.

You need to be a self-motivated individual who is keen to look for learning opportunities from our extensive and varied daily caseload. You will see new cases every day, and will experience Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery practised to the highest standards in one of the UK's top Specialist referral centres.

You will learn the benefits of a multi-team approach to case investigation, treatment and management and your contributions to case discussion will be encouraged.

If you would like to be considered for an EMS placement at Southfields Veterinary Specialists, please contact [email protected] in the first instance, detailing your preferred dates for placement, confirmation that you will be a final year student at a UK university and attaching your CV. An outline of why you would like to spend time with us, together with all relevant clinical experience gained to date would also be helpful. Please use your university email account for all correspondence.
