Feline Medicine

At Southfields Veterinary Specialists, we understand that cats are very different to dogs; the range of diseases they may have are not the same as those which affect dogs and they need to be handled and treated in a different way.

Our Specialist-led feline team are skilled at providing the special attention required to reduce your cat’s fear and pain, to reduce anxiety for owners, and to reinforce the veterinarian-cat relationship.

We have a dedicated cat waiting area and during consultations, our highly experienced feline team are extremely proficient at examining your cat whilst ensuring as little stress as possible. Feline patients are hospitalised in our dedicated cat ward and cared for by specially trained nurses. Critically ill patients are cared for in our intensive care unit which is managed by a team of highly skilled nurses, with advanced monitoring equipment, and the support of our anaesthesia service who have advanced, specialist knowledge of cat sedation, anaesthesia and pain management.
