Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

Job Description

Southfields Veterinary Specialists are currently recruiting for a talented nurse to provide support to our rapidly growing surgical department.

You will work as part of our surgical team consisting of consultants, residents, interns, nurses, and support staff. You will see a large and varied referral and emergency caseload, including orthopaedics, soft tissue, neurology, ophthalmology, and exotics, allowing you to work within an exceptional team and develop your career. This is a rewarding and challenging role that will require teamwork and dedication to the service and its patients.

Your daily duties will include assisting with surgical consultations; patient preparation (from admit to surgery); preparation of theatres and the theatre prep area; monitoring of sedations/anaesthetics; assisting with pre/post-operative imaging and procedures; communicating post-operative requirements to ward nurses; providing sterile and circulating surgical support.

You will be required to work a mixture of early and late shifts and 2:8 weekends with time off in lieu following.

Referral experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Specific experiences / qualifications / status / citizenship requirements

You must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Are a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a minimum of 1-year post-qualification experience
  • Have an excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Maintain a professional and caring approach in all aspects of your work
  • Provide evidence of your right to work in the UK
