Remote
Telephone Consultations

Veterinary consultations from the comfort of your own home

Southfields is pleased to offer remote telephone consultations for referral appointments with our Neurology, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Surgery teams. Our remote consultation service enables our teams to assist clients when we are not able to provide face-to-face consultations.

During a remote telephone consultation, our clinicians can:

  • Review clinical history supplied by the referring vet
  • Provide interpretations of diagnostics
  • Discuss your case, make recommendations and provide estimates.

Following the remote consultation, an in-person follow-on consultation would be required prior to admittance, procedures, treatments, medications or prescriptions.

Benefits of a remote telephone consultation:

  • Consultations from the comfort of your own home
  • Appointments lasting up to 45 minutes
  • A calmer experience for anxious pets
  • Limits the need for travel.
A woman sits on her chair in the living room of her home on the telephone. On the back of her chair her pet dog is relaxing.

Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Guidance
Vets work under professional guidance from the RCVS and the Medicines Act; this restricts what can be carried out remotely to diagnose and treat your pet when they are unwell.
