With experience and expertise in every aspect of imaging relating to the care of pets, our Diagnostic Imaging team enable swift diagnosis moving to more rapid and appropriate identification of treatment options. The team includes Clinicians and Diagnostic Imaging nurses, who have specific experience in caring for pets throughout the diagnostic process, to ensure it is as stress-free as possible for your pet, and for you.


Jessica Sumping

Jess studied at the Royal Veterinary College and immediately after graduating completed a rotating internship at Vets Now Referrals, Glasgow. She spent several years working in first opinion, both in the private and charity sector, before embarking upon an imaging internship and residency at the University of Liverpool. She obtained her ECVDI diploma in January 2024 and joined Southfields Veterinary Specialists in May 2024.

Outside of work, Jess enjoys travelling, hiking, cooking, going to the gym and spending time with her cat, Doris

Jeremy Mortier

Jeremy graduated from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse (France) in 2008 then worked both in private practice and university, where he undertook 2 Internships and obtained certificates in Internal Medicine and Clinical Pathology.

Jeremy completed an ECVDI residency in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Liverpool (UK) in 2016 and became an ECVDI Diplomate in 2017.
After a short time in private practice, Jeremy went back to Liverpool where he did a PhD on perfusion CT of canine tumours, then became head of the imaging service at the National Veterinary School of Alfort (France).
His main research interest lies in imaging of cancer and airway diseases.

In his free time Jeremy enjoys movies, TV series, boxing, rock climbing and traveling, and loves to spend time with his rescue dog Tina.


Philippa Weston

Philippa graduated from the University of Liverpool (UK) in 2015. After working in general practice and completing two internships, one general and one specialising in Diagnostic Imaging, she undertook a residency in Diagnostic Imaging at the Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service (UK). She completed her residency in 2021 and became a European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) specialist in 2022. Following her residency, she worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool, where she obtained her Fellowship of Higher Education (FHEA) award. Philippa currently works as a Veterinary Radiology Clinician for the Anicura CHV Porto Hospital Veterinário (Portugal), alongside a remote radiologist role for Southfields Veterinary Specialists (UK), and as a teleradiologist for VetCT.

Hazel Reid

Hazel graduated from Edinburgh University longer ago than she would like to admit.

During her time in general practice Hazel developed a keen interest in imaging. After completing a postgraduate certificate, she committed to the discipline and joined a multidisciplinary referral practice as a diagnostic imaging clinician. She enjoys all aspects of imaging but is particularly interested in ultrasound, teaching, and research.

Out of work Hazel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, and exploring the great outdoors with her springer spaniel Douglas.


Jane Terrett

Radiographer

BSc Diagnostic Radiography

Jane qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography in 2009 and joined the Southfields Veterinary Specialists team in February 2026. She has extensive experience in diagnostic imaging and patient care and has specialised in MRI for the past 10 years.
Jane comes from a family of animal lovers, with close family members caring for a variety of animals including rescue dogs, meerkats, chickens, horses and cats, which has inspired her passion for veterinary imaging.
In her spare time, Jane enjoys spending time with family and friends, socialising and going on holidays. She enjoys keeping active through running, yoga, badminton and netball, and regularly takes part in Superhero Runs with the children to raise money for charity.


Jessica Jackson

Senior Diagnostic Imaging Registered Veterinary Nurse

Jessica is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who joined the Southfields Veterinary Specialists’ team in December 2017 as a Diagnostic Imaging Nurse. Jessica has more than 6 years' experience working as part of a diagnostic imaging team, operating and performing basic and advanced diagnostic imaging.

Jessica thoroughly enjoys diagnostic imaging, particularly CT and is also very interested in emergency and critical care medicine and in 2017 completed her CertVNECC certificate.

In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit, spending time with her husband and her two handsome nephews; as well as enjoying cuddles with her Lilac British shorthair Doris and her Staffordshire bull terrier Bruce.


Katie Lewis

Katie is currently studying towards her FdSC Degree in Veterinary Nursing at Nottingham Trent University and joined Southfields in June 2018.

Through her studies, Katie has discovered that she has interests in anatomy, specifically the kidneys and the skeleton.


Katie Mills

Diagnostic Imaging Registered Veterinary Nurse

Katie Joined Southfields in April 2019, she began her Southfields journey working as a multi-disciplinary veterinary nurse and in December 2019 made the move to join the Imaging team as Diagnostic Imaging Nurse.

Katie enjoys all parts of Imaging, especially CT and taking specialist radiographs.

In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with friends and family, and also playing with her two new kittens, Nala and Loki!


Briney Miller

Diagnostic Imaging Patient Care Assistant

Level 2 BTEC Technicals Animal Care diploma

Briney has always been interested in Animal Care and enrolled in the Level 2 BTEC Technicals Animal Care course at Capel Manor College. After completing her diploma, Briney moved into the veterinary industry and worked at a rehoming centre. Briney joined Southfields in June 2019 as one of our Nursing Assistants.

In her spare time, Briney enjoys reading and walking her dogs.
